Lady in the Future World
Acrylic Paint and Newspaper
45 x 30cm
I had a lot of fun creating my cubism painting. I enjoyed thinking of different and unique patterns to use. For the background, I used rather bright colors, divided by black or dark blue lines. I cut out triangular pieces of newspaper to add more diversity and creativity. I also used bright colors on the face. I divided it into different planes on a face. To not make too colorful, I used gray, black and white for the hair and the cubist shirt.
It looks really cubist! all the patterns are really appealing to the eye, good job julia:)
ReplyDeleteI love what you did for this! the mix of colors as well as black and white really contrasts:) adding the pieces of newspaper makes it stand out and its really original! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, i love this painting! the dress is awsomely made out of different shapes with different patterns wich gives it a nice cubist touch and also, her face being different shades and colors realy draws us into it. Good job :)
ReplyDeleteI think this piece is really nice. I like how certain planes of her face are brought to the front through the use of specific colours. The contrast between black and white and bright colours was very well done. Knowing that the painting is of Lady Gaga makes it all the more interesting since half of her shirt looks like it could be piano keys and the other, maybe the tiles of a classic dancefloor.
ReplyDeleteNice observations Kiana! I like the contrast of the neutral foreground and the wild vivid background.
ReplyDeleteThank you guys! Yes kiana, that was my intention, I wanted to use bright colors, and then use some neutral shades to contrast.
